Thea’s Actors Workshop series is back

Standard

Thea’s Actors Workshop series is back this year, and we have a hands-on, intensive workshop planned for students. Previously taught by show-biz greats such as Harry Thomason, Mary Steenburgen, and Ted Danson, the Actors Workshop will be led by acclaimed actress Natalie Canerday this year. The Thea Foundation is very grateful to have Natalie on board, as her experience and personality are wonderfully suited for such a learning environment.

A native of Arkansas and a graduate of Hendrix College, Natalie has appeared in thirty-two films, from the big-budget favorites October Sky and Walk the Line, to small-budget, critically-acclaimed independent films Sling Blade and One False Move. For her performance in One False Move, she received a Two-Minute Oscar from Interview Magazine, and in 1997, she and the cast of Sling Blade were nominated for Best Performance by an Ensemble Cast at the Screen Actors Guild Awards. Furthermore, in 2000, Natalie was invited to participate in Robert Redford’s prestigious Sundance Institute Filmmaker’s Lab along with Sally Field, Jake Gyllenhaal, and others. When she’s not filming, Natalie performs in four to six shows a year at Murry’s Dinner Playhouse in Little Rock.
